I grew up only minutes away from Columbia Lake Health Club, when UW’s North Campus was no more than a lake, farmer’s fields and golf course. Believe it or not, I even spent part of a summer rowing in Columbia Lake (the geese were no friendlier then)! My childhood was spent dancing competitively and participating in a variety of sports, but by grade eleven I became more and more interested in the health club setting. Throughout high school I progressively gained weight but decided that getting older is not an excuse for getting fat! As a result, I have experienced weight loss (25 pounds) and have maintained my current weight for over 7 years (even while studying in Switzerland and New Zealand – the best chocolate producers in the world!). In April 2006, I graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Physical and Health Education and in August 2009 I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Masters of Science in Kinesiology. I am pleased to be able to continue to work part time at Columbia Lake Health Club as a personal trainer and to teach fitness and cycling classes.
